like many people i watched ninjago when i was kid.. my earliest memory i have of it is drawing kai in my reading writing class in 1st grade and going up to my teacher to show her but i got too embarrassed so i went back to my desk AND LOOK AT ME NOW drawing kai ninjago and posting it online for billions to see.........
i stopped watching sometime later but in 2018 i saw someone draw glacier (zane x cole) and it made me go "omg ninjago how awsome i will rewatch this now" and since then ive been in the fandom and keeping up with the show

there was supposed to a section where i talk about the characters but the hardest part of making shrines is actual;ly talking about things and also it was really only going to be about kai anyways maybe some of the other characters could have gotten a few sentances but kai is really the one i wanted to talk about since at the time of writing this (dec 2025) this entire year has been the year of kai for me.
in janruary wildfires happened and while i was evacuated i did my anual full series rewatch for ninjago because 1) i really needed to catch up with the lkatest seasons and 20 i needed it it was fucked back then and one thing that surprised me was how much i suddenly got kais character and how much i realted to him never in my 7 years of ninjago did i think i would say that
the main takeaway was kai was extremely self destructive in ways i could understand. if you take a look at the art section you might see some drawings related to that but in summary he tried to go into a volcano with no intention of coming back twice

i love plasma as fuck i love it so much i am ployninja (kaixzanexjayxcole) for life and forvever but my favorite og ninja shipos are plasma (kai x jay ) and glacier (zane x cole)oooooooooooooooooouuuuuuuggggggghgf
plasma is just good by itself like jay and kai have good interactions but nowadays in ninjago it actually feels like kai has a crush on jay or something. its insane.
why does kai actually have a crush on jay like hes obsessed with him. in the 11 minute era they reuse the same joke of kai going "well if jay can do it then so can i" or "HUH??? jay of all people?!??" or "it should be someone expendable....... like jay"or "who would ever want jay?" "jay jay jay jay jay" but it just comes off like hes constantly thinking about him for no reason. that combined with other small things too
so current plasma theory i have is that after the mock proposal in s10 he saw that jay instinctively said yes and, even if he knew it was just because they were practicing, he started thinking about how he couldve been with jay but now he cant since he plans on getting ninjago married with his sister soon so now has a crush on him. and in order to deal with it he constantly shit talks jay and is like "PFFT who would ever want to date jay litterally no one haha yea not me" and is constantly thinking about everything he does
made this compilation of plasma moments. their early dynamic is jay being a bit more experienced than kai (see first image of this page), then at around 3 minutes into the video the proposal happens, then after that is the 11 minute era where kai just talks shit about jay constantly.
as for what theyre like in dragons rising there really isnt much since jay just came backl to the ninja and they havent had much time together BUT BUTBUTBUT the latest season ended on a clifhanger with everyone getting seperated into groups and kai jay and nya are with each other itll obviously be jaya focused with kai as brother support but it would be nice to see kai and rouge jay interact

if kai and rouge jay couldve interacted earlier i think it wouldve been a bit like early plasma as in stronger smarter experienced jay teasing kai a bit. like kai convincing himself that jays a loser who needs him throughout the 11 minute era and then seeing him in either the agent walker suit or just rouge jay made him explode and remember how cool he was (see 2nd drawing on art page) when they were first starting to get to know each other idk i just wish we couldve seen it ripppp
do you think kai (pre drs3 pt2) sometimes dreamt about being with jay post season 10 but didnt want to be the homewrecker of all time so skip ahead to dragons rising he has a chance with him now but its like a nightmare because hes fucked up and evil and its not the jay he knows but he has a chance now
ninjargon log
originally, ninjago just used random chinese and japanese characters in its design without seemingly any care for what they meant. during the development of the lego ninjago movie, ninjargon became the official language used around ninjago. it was incorporated in the show sometime around season 7-season 8 and is still used throughout the franchise today.
ninjargon is actually just english but with different characters lol
if you look to the left of this page, you can see i wrote "ninja/NINJA" in ninjargon
because of its simplicity it svery fun being able to read signs and text while watching ninjago and building sets BUT WAIT ITS NOT AS SIMPLE AS YOU MAY THINK it probably is but im insane SOOOOOOOOO
sometimes the words are compressed and written similarly to chinese characters like here
arin(ARIN) and sora(SORA)'s names are written with the letters combined instead of just left to right one after the other
is it makes me wonder if its used in ninjago society and how like if it would just be for names like in the pic or for certain words like kanji in Japanese..... is there a traditional and simplified version of ninjargon..... in ninjargon traditional would every word be compressed like the pic and like Chinese or would it be a combo of simplified and traditional like in Japanese with kanji and hiragana......
this lead me to becoming obbessed with writing in ninjargon for the following days and practicing writng in the compressed format i tried out writing character names, elements, phrases, things, and just anything in ninjargon lol so here is some of what i wrote (oldest to newest)
